Dry Spell Ends?

October 15, 2007

So anyway, yeah, I know, it’s been a long time.  I can’t post anything other than what I believe to be high quality, top of the line band names.

Here’s two more:

Cardigan James- I, uh, can’t tell you where this came from.  Honest.

Afternoon Bodyslam- From discussions around the lunch table at work.  No, we were not trying to describe the way work feels, but feel free to use this to express how things are going in YOUR daily grind.

The Latest

March 21, 2007

Pants 275- This one was prompted by a sign on Copper Hill Road near Seco Canyon Road.  I assume a dry cleaner is involved somehow.

Germs of Alaska- Thanks to Becky and Jay Frame!

Sorry…

February 14, 2007

I let this thing slip.

Here are two more:

Fool’s Collie
This one was based upon conversation Mary and I had with Jennene when we were driving back to camp from the swimming hole in Kernville.

Licking the Unwilling
Credit goes to Lucy for this one.

Honorable Mention

September 25, 2006

A name that deserves recognition, yet will not be added to the list, is “The Duke of Noodle”.  I did not want it to appear that a disproportionate number of the Names are food-related.

Long Overdue

September 22, 2006

This is a project that is loooong overdue.

For years I have mentally catalogued hundreds of “band names”.  These are phrases that come up in conversation and, upon reflection, I think (or say to those in proximity), “That would be a good band name.”  I have been meaning to make a list for a long time, but pen and paper seemed inappropriate.

Thus, this blog.  The names will be a starting point, but I may drift off into other topics as time goes on.

Since these names are a product of my brain, I would ask that you only use them with my express permission.  If you are interested in using one, please contact me.

The list may be found here or by clicking the link on the right side of the page.
